After all the activity around exhibitions in March, this month has been quiet on the Art front by comparison.
As a Collective we have been accepted to take part in the CMYK Festival of Print and Illustration, an annual event at Hereford College of Arts so I’ve been making some zines to show (and hopefully sell a few copies) at the event in a couple of weeks time.

This last one was a bit of an experiment using an original dark slide from the Polaroid film pack as a cover with some printed life-sized Polaroid images as the content, and with an image of the reverse of a Polaroid on the back cover. The pages were then sewn stitched to bind them together but the pagination means there are nine inner shots rather than the eight you get in a pack. Artistic licence…
The year-long Revolve project continues although I feel that I’m falling behind slightly so need to review where I am shortly. I also have more than two candidates for some letters of the alphabet (I’m making the title of each image correspond to a letter, twice over for the year) and there are some obvious gaps, so that review is really needed as the project ends in July.
On the design front I’ve been busy putting together the Worcestershire Open Studios guide. The event takes place over 10 days at the end of August. I’ll be taking part with seven others at the Collective HQ in Edgar Street, six of the resident artists plus two guest artists who are taking over the gallery and workshop spaces. We’re at venue 88.
I’ve also been working on some exhibition material for ArtCan the international arts organisation that I volunteer with.
Flyers are a normal requirement for promoting a new exhibition and these usually highlight some of the selected artist’s work, however ArtCan have just been gifted the use of an empty restaurant to use as a hub for several months so I’ve been designing some window graphics as well.
To wrap up, as seems to be becoming the norm, a few random pictures taken when out and about.
